Glad to be alive! Even in Gilbert, Arizona. Neither of my two marriages worked out, but my partner and I have a wonderful life together. No arguments, no infidelities, and no "Whose money this time" issues. Earned a couple of Masters' degrees. Don't use any now. I have a great life with the dance classes with a dancer from Gary Moore Show and the Lucky Strike Hit Parade. My Psychologist is world renown. (he wants my poems published) I am truly happy.
I awake and am happy to be alive......I once lived in Scottsdale, but Gilbert is best. Definitely my home.
2021
I must be blessed by a very loving God. A friend from the long-passed 70's and New Mexico moved to Arizona. I have been living with him since 2015. I officially retired in 2016. Since I have not known what to do with myself, free time, and "lock-downs", I purchased a home in Prescott. Of course, now I am working to renovate so that it will be a comfortable home before the summer temperatures of 115+ begin here in The Valley. Since Tom met me in the 70's he has been saying that he wanted to see West Lafayette. So we will be at the reunion in September. Can't wait to see you all.

I am so grateful that I was invited to the reunion for the WLSH class of
61, even though I moved in the middle of our senior year. I am especially
thrilled that the stars finally aligned at the last minute, which allows
me to travel to Indiana and to attend the reunion.
Currently I live in Scottsdale Arizona and as I type this statement I have
the good fortune to be watching a family of quail eating and nesting in my
backyard. The better side of desert life in Arizona!
I moved to Arizona in 1972 to be close to my parents. I had been married
to John Nelson, class of '60, for eight years, but we divorced that fall.
We have a wonderful son, Greg Nelson, who lives in Phoenix with his wife,
Marlene and their daughter, Nicole. This beautiful and precious
granddaughter now attends FSU where her father graduated.
Since the housewife job did not work out, I needed to support myself and
son. I returned to school and earned a MBA from ASU. For 13 years I was
a banker and ended my career as a Vice President in Corporate Lending.
During my years as a banker, I became wildly interested in occupational
stress and psychology. I again returned to school, this time earning a
Masters in Counseling. It seems strange to realize that with a
late-in-life career change (age 50), I have been working as a
psychotherapist for seventeen years. For the last eleven years I have
worked as an Employee Assistance Program Counselor for Scottsdale
Healthcare, which is a nonprofit organization with three hospitals and
about 7000 employees. I counsel only employees and their families. I see
this as the best counseling job in Arizona.
My sister, Connie, class of 63, died after a year and a half of
undiagnosed neurological difficulties in 2002. My mother passed several
years later and my father passed when he was 92. My brother,John, and I
miss them every day.
Returning to West Lafayette will be such a reminder of my family and of my
childhood. Realistically or not, I feel as if I am returning home and to
those who meant so much to me. I look forward to seeing everyone. Even
if you do not remember me, I still may give you a great big hug!
